Wassili Zafiris is international trainer, coach, researcher, author, public speaker, a specialist in personal change.
As meta-coach, neuro-semantic pioneer and NLP-Master Trainer Wassili facilitates transformational processes of individuals and (international) organisations. Wassili is co-creator of Meaningful Profit, a business model that fuses profit – and non for profit entrepreneurship. He developed an innovative motivation model next to many other techniques and models related to coaching, co-creation, teamwork and leadership. He works with clients in 1 on 1 meetings and groups. His psychological and business background together with his knowledge of neurology as a former specialized physical therapist combined with his experience in emotional intelligence (due to his study in haptonomie) make of him an expert in the art and science of change and growth.
In 2017 Wassili was awarded a Fellowship by the International Institute of Organisational Psychological Medicine for his contribution to this field of study.
As former board member of the ICF (International Coach Federation) he has contributed for years to the professionalisation of coaching. Wassili is ambassador of Al Gore’s Project Reality in the Netherlands. He is mental coach for professional athletes, amongst others the Dutch Women’s Volleyball team for the qualification of the 2016 Olympic games. Wassili is co-author of the twice nominated book IK BEN niet alleen op de wereld about Meaningful Profit. He is co-author (with Aranka van der Pol) of the book Eetlust, where he modelled the genius of 10 world-class chefs.
In 2014 he created the animation, The first worldwide crisis YOU can DO something about, about the psychology of Meaningful Profit applied to climate change. In 2016 he presented his latest book Happiness is Depressing, in which he discusses the negative effects of the ‘happiness culture’ and world of quick fixes. Happiness is Depressing gives new insights into 2 important issues in our societies: how do we become happy and how do we solve the ever-growing problem of depression? In this book presuppositions about happiness and depression are questioned and new insights are shared about the causes of depression as well as how to resolve the depressed state. Happiness is Depressing is written as a manual to rediscover Zest for Life based on NLP and neuro-semantic techniques.
Lucas Derks (developer of the Social Panorama model and Mental Space Psychology) made a short movie outlining some ideas Wassili presents in his book.
His latest publication (2018) is the chapter “Stress and relaxation in organizations” for the Oxford Textbook of Organizational Psychological Medicine.
You can contact him for personal or business questions.
